<description>first of all, i love malaysia..

i do agree with most of what you've said, and i just think the problems that are happening in Malaysia are just overwhelming.. power abuse and corruptions has made me feel cheated.. i think all of Malaysian citizens should at least feel this way..

however, although the government has screwed up on a lot of things (especially on not being transparent and the power abuse), there's no way that every single problem is their responsibility.. yes, they are guilty, but at least they're not 100% guilty.. Last Friday's khatib said this in the khutbah himself -- everything starts on an individual level.. if individuals in the country are hardly being responsible in what they do, then most likely anyone who steps up to be in power will slowly screw up somehow, someday, one way or another..

idealists, for example, often change once they are in power.. so, what could actually stop the one in power from corruption? i believe it's all about individual responsibility..

other than the need for certain policy changes and better transparency in where the resources go every day, i strongly believe that another solution is also to start fixing things from bottoms-up, instead of top-down.. it's not going to be easy.. it'll take years, decades, or even centuries..

i pray for the best for Malaysia and its citizens..
